SKYWATCH FRIDAY - The Suffocating Sky

If it comes any lower
my arms will flail
to get it out of my hair.
De-energized, subdued light,
the earth is suffocating
in the iron gray.
Bird wings weighed down
except for vultures circling
down on the carcass of this day
while God is hiding His eyes.

I wonder if you have ever been to Montana. It is called Big Sky Country and once you cross the border and enter the state you understand why it has this name. The sky seems to be right on top of you everywhere.

I think the sky can be a flirt sometimes and see how close it can get to us!

Brilliant. I really like this poem--the image of the arms flailing and the carcass of the day. Great job.

A photo and poem. I like to do the same thing. Great shot of that heavy sky and the right words to go with it!
