Valentine from the Past

This is a mushy Valentine poem I wrote to my beloved a long time ago but I feel the same way now:

I only knew a Valentine
six years ago
when you became mine

grace revealed
in a burning love
we go in passionate waves

where
were you before
when I thought I knew of love?

now
your arms around me
are life-giving and we have created
memories in the cradle of our united life

even
when you are unaware
my bond and gratitude
are ever-present

then
I asked you to stay
and share the journey with me

now
I feel the same
only more

Beautiful. I love this verse:

where
were you before
when I thought I knew of love?

If we could only have known then, what we know now.

It all just pales by comparison, doesn't it?

Ah, to have that kind of love. I'm so glad for you.

I got your book of poems the other day and I'm reading a little at a time. I like the variety of the poems and verse. I really wish you success.

This is so moving. I too know that feeling of finding someone long after you wanted to find love.
