SNOW DAY!

Oh, the glorious phone call came last night. Earlier in the day I'd said to my husband, "We should really have a snow day tomorrow. "

He laughed in his I'm trying not to show how jealous I am that I didn't become a teacher laugh.

I said,"No really, I'm only thinking of the children - it's too cold!" More laughter - yeah right.

Early evening last night he shoved the phone at me frowning - "It's the superintendent." As I hung up the phone I did my happy dance.

There's very little snow here, but a whole lotta cold. Below zero wind chill. Too cold for the children. Really.

What's this? You don't have a building with electricity and heaters? Is it a one room school house? Aren't you in Ohio?
Too cold for school. I don't buy it. When I was a kid, I had to walk in my moonboots uphill in the snow...oh, nevermind, guess that's already been vented.

I remember visiting Fairbanks, Alaska when it was 33 below zero and the children still went to school. But if they didn't have their full body snow suits (including face covers) they weren't allowed to play outside. Now that is cold.

Stay warm!

I just don't think I can take the cold anymore, mainly because of all the illness that comes with it as of this winter season. Serves me right for not getting my flu shot!
Sincerely,
